When you show respect towards others, you become respected. While other people won’t always deserve your respect, it is not a reward that is yours to grant. Respect is a means of communication and understanding.
Showing disrespect gets you nothing but anger, hate, and is a sign of weakness. Showing respect doesn’t mean you agree with everything someone does or says. Respectful disagreement is a powerful catalyst for growth and achievement.
Showing respect is more than lip service, but there is power in verbalizing it. Start a conversation with “I respect you for…” Verbalizing specific things you respect someone for will change their day as well as yours.
